The Long Version

Christopher Bylone is a visionary leader whose life and work are rooted in resilience, inclusion, and data-driven transformation. As the founder of Innovation Unbiased, Christopher is redefining how organizations build cultures of belonging—where data meets heart, and every voice matters.

He is also the host of the podcast “I Know I Belong When…”, a space where bold voices and curious stories converge to explore what belonging truly feels like. Through intimate conversations and strategic insights, Christopher invites listeners to reflect, connect, and act.

Raised on a rural farm in Southern New Jersey, Christopher’s love for the outdoors and strong work ethic were shaped early. These roots continue to ground his leadership style: strategic, people-focused, and purpose-driven.

His advocacy journey began at Cumberland County College, where he founded the first Gay-Straight Alliance. When a story in The Daily Journal publicly outed him, Christopher transformed adversity into activism. That moment became a catalyst for his lifelong commitment to equity and inclusion.

Christopher’s personal experiences—including surviving cancer—have deepened his empathy and sharpened his resolve to create spaces where everyone feels seen, heard, and valued.

Most recently, Christopher served as Global Head of Belonging at Krispy Kreme, where he:

  • Designed the company’s first Global Belonging Strategy

  • Launched new ERGs for People with Disabilities and Veterans & Emergency Responders

  • Developed an Inclusive Behavior Model to guide everyday actions

  • Built partnerships with organizations like the Thurgood Marshall College Fund and Best Buddies International

Prior to Krispy Kreme, Christopher held leadership roles at International Flavors & Fragrances (IFF), a Fortune 500 company. As Global Head of DE&I, he:

  • Co-led the launch of IFF’s 2030 ESG Strategy

  • Rolled out Global Parental Leave

  • Increased the DE&I budget from $40,000 to $1.3 million

  • Harmonized DE&I programs during the merger with DuPont N&B

  • Created a Transgender Transitioning at Work Policy

Christopher’s belief in the power of names is deeply personal. For years, being misgendered based on his voice led him to reclaim his full name—Christopher—as a way to assert identity and foster respect. This choice reflects his broader philosophy: that inclusion begins with intentionality.

Today, Christopher lives in the Charlotte Metro area with his family. He is a proud father to Derek, a freshman at the Darla Moore School of Business, and Jacob, an eighth grader who plays football and lacrosse. His love for the outdoors continues through gardening, and his retirement dream is to own a small farm that grows food for local soup kitchens and food pantries.

Christopher’s story is one of bold leadership, authentic impact, and unwavering commitment to belonging. Whether through Innovation Unbiased, his podcast, or his personal journey, he continues to inspire others to lead with heart and act with purpose.
